A captivating collision of the old and the new, this design sparks a dynamic dialogue between the site’s industrial history and the Company’s innovative identity. This design seamlessly blends new construction and existing structures, by creating a series of terraces, or platforms, that gently step away from the site’s historic buildings to create a light-filled central atrium. This grand gesture also invites the surrounding landscape to flow into and through the building, creating a continuous and porous public realm that emphasizes the human scale and urban experience.
This unique approach also offers opportunities for smooth movement both through and between buildings and floors, providing a series of light-filled breakout and explorations spaces for both employees and the public. The programmatic synergy created by this flow of people and ideas bridges and connects the site’s distinct buildings, making the Company’s Headquarters Campus an ideal new home for global innovation and advancement.
On the southern side of the site, the design engages the wider community and city at the ground level where the lobby space spills out into the landscape under a series of stepping volumes. This experience ties into a dynamic sequence of public amenities along the waterfront and the sculpture park. Finally, this design’s active ground floor is elevated to act a strategic solution to future flooding risks, ensuring its long-term resilience.
A pioneer in design excellence, innovation and sustainability, this scheme symbolically and spatially represents the Company’s vision for a fresh approach to workplaces that blurs the lines between private and public spaces to suggest infinite possibilities for the company, people, and the environment.
